my thoughts on buying clothes for my kids

As most of you will know, I used to work for a kids clothing company (miss you VONBON). It always brought me so much joy to see Lily wearing clothes that I had such a big role in bringing to life.
When I knew I was having baby no.2 I stocked up big time but knew that at some point I was going to have to go out and purchase new stuff for the kids.
Fast forward a year and I can tell you I’m so happy to have come across some new ‘made in Canada’ kids brands (tagged above) which are filling that void that VONBON once took up. I’m really enjoying supporting their small businesses & sharing about what they do!
With that being said, I’ve also been looking into other options. My lovely friend Jen Wilson has been sharing about how she’s rethought shopping - and it’s completely inspired me to take a look at my purchasing habits.
I can’t say I’ll ever give up thoughtfully purchasing new clothes but I’ve just started doing my research about looking into second hand or thrifted options for the kids (send through your tips in the comments below).
And speaking of which, Archive has their consignment warehouse sale this weekend - and for the first time, will include baby & kids clothes!! I’ll be selling a bunch of Lily’s pre-loved items (read: a lot of VONBON) and can’t wait to thoughtfully shop for some new items for both kids.
If you have any tips about adding thrifted items into your kids wardrobe OR best places in Vancouver to shop second hand - let me know in the comments below,
