Hi. I'm Sharday.

Welcome to my site. It's here that I document all things related to style, beauty and my experiences as a mother.

the bed

As much as I love to travel & explore what this beautiful city has to offer, there's something about coming back home to a familiar place to rest your head. I'm not a nomad. I could never stand the idea of three-day festivals or camping out in the wilderness for weeks on end. To me a bed is not just for sleep (or intimacy), it's an office, a home movie theatre, a cuddle pad with Av & Lily, and our cats favourite place to reside. I love my home and I love my bed. I'm a home body.

When my husband & I were looking to move houses just recently, I knew that our bed needed a serious upgrade. We bought a second hand bed from the previous tenant at one of our last rentals (ew I know). It was firm, it did the trick but it was nothing to write home about. Also - we had just moved to Canada and didn't know how long we would stay. 4 years later - we needed a serious update.

My tips for setting up the perfect bed:

1. Set the foundations: this IKEA MALM bed frame with storage is honestly great. We store all our towels, sheets, pillows and Lily's 'grown-out-of' baby clothes underneath. Super space efficient if you're short on storage.

2. Go all out on the mattress: it's worth the investment. We just got a Casper mattress and it is heavenly. It's firm, but foamy and moulds to your body so nicely. I get into bed and never want to leave *currently typing this in bed*. Casper delivers to your home and makes the mattress buying process super convenient.

3. Accoutrement: it's French for additional items of dress or equipment. In this case, it's a mid-weight duvet (not too hot, not too cool) and cotton sheeting.

4.. The cherry on top: Pilllloooowwss. And tons of them! I've got a mix of Casper and IKEA ones.

What makes the perfect bed setting for you? And how many pillows is too many pillows?
